Weekly (30 minutes lessons) are $15 per lesson and may be paid for by cash or check. Payment received later than the second week will incur a $5 late fee. Lessons may be paid for monthly. Students may purchase their music books at their lesson.
Responsibilities of the Teacher
The primary responsibility of the teacher is to teach music to students. The teaching style will be adapted to match the learning style of the student. The teacher will respect the lesson times by being prepare to teach and being focus on the lesson. If for any reason the teacher need to cancel a lesson (illness, emergency, weather, etc.), the student will be allowed a make-up lesson.
Responsibilities of the Student
The student expected to respect the teacher, the instrument, and his/herself. When the student arrives, they may look over their music to prepare for their lesson or wait quietly while the lesson ahead is finishing up.
Life can get crazy and it does not always go the way we plan; however, the student should strive towards the 3 P's: Punctuality, Prepared, and Proper materials (music books, notebook...). Phones and other noise making devices will be silenced during the lesson. No food or drink (with the exception of water bottles) is allowed in the studio.
If the student is unable to make it their lesson, notification is needed at least 24 hour before their lesson in advance. (In case of an emergency, illness...notify as soon as possible). Students missing a lesson without notification will still be charged for that lesson. If 3 misses without notification occur, that time slot will become available to other students.
Students are not to come to their lessons sick. Health is important and it's hard to do your best if you are ill. It is not in your best interest to come to a lesson when you are sick, nor is it in the best interest of the teacher and other students. If a student comes to their lesson sick, they may be sent home. The world will not end if a lesson is missed because of an illness. Make-up lessons are available and can be arranged; however makeup lessons are for lessons missed because of an illness, weather, emergencies, etc.
If a student decides to discontinue lessons, a two week notice is required.
Responsibility of the Family
Parents and siblings are welcome to stay during the lesson, but please remember this is lesson time. Student distractions need to be kept to a minimum. Phones and other noise making devices need to be silenced during the lesson.
Recitals
Students work very hard mastering skills. Helping them celebrate these accomplishments is important. At the end of the year, students will present a piece they have mastered at a recital. Family and friends are welcome and encouraged to come see the progress and enjoy the performances. It is casual but students are encouraged to dress up a little. Date and time will be given in a note to the students and will be listed on the website.
